MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee Bucks fans gathered outside Fiserv Forum on Thursday, April 18 after clouds cleared in the afternoon, offering support as the team departed for Indianapolis to begin its opening-round playoff series against the Indiana Pacers.
The mood among the crowd was optimistic, fueled by anticipation of Damian Lillard’s expected return to the court. The star guard has missed recent weeks due deep vein thrombosis in his right calf, but team updates suggest he is nearing a comeback.
Fans also pointed to the opportunity to avenge last season’s early playoff exit, which was handed to the Bucks by Indiana in last year's first round.
"Redemption. Kick out the team that kicked us out last year," said Ashlee Walk.
"I’m excited to see them pass through and see if they pull off another good win like they did a couple years ago," added Jackson Janikowski.
Game one of the series between the Bucks and Pacers takes place Saturday, April 19 at noon.
